“Our company markets several very different ranges of products, all made from wood but aimed at distincly different markets.
For several years we have had www.orielonline.com as an all purpose site that illustrated some of the different product groups - it was not optimized and offered a fairly confusing mixture of seemingly unrelated product groups. Having created two distinct websites for some of our ranges targeted at the general public I decided to rework Oriel online to focus it on one specific category and make it a business to business marketing tool.
Getting the website redesigned and optimised
10 days ago we asked Fen Digital to remove two thirds of the content, leaving just our hotel products on the site. We also asked them to redesign the site to give it a lighter, fresher appearance and to have it optimised for search engines. We decided on the likely search terms our potential customers might use and left it to John Waddington.
It took just five days till we started getting orders
The site was changed and submitted to the internet on Monday with its new key words. It was Friday of the same week that a telephone order for just under £1,000 came in from a new customer. On checking my website statistics, I discovered that the client had put a search enquiry into Google at 13:45, found Orielonline in first position, went into the site, visited each page and left after 51 minutes to place the order by telephone.
Earlier the same day I had been told, by a business offering optimisation at £4,000 per site, that search engines take around 5 months to index a site. My five days to reach number 1 would seem impossible. Thanks to Fen Digital we achieved the impossible!”
