Originally the main living hall, the Restaurant at Ravenwood Hall near Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, retains its carved timbers and huge inglenook fireplace from Tudor times, creating a cosy and intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy the delights of the kitchen served with traditional courtesy.
With home preserved fruits and vegetables, and with meats and fish smoked on our premises, our Head Chef uses the abundant seasonal foods, locally produced with flair and imagination.
All this combines into a menu which is both adventurous but classical, featuring long forgotten English recipes. Sample such delicacies as Oak Smoked Pheasant with Blackberry and Sloe Gin Jelly, or Pear and Stilton Strudel Scented With Thyme and Nutmeg on a Plum Coulis.
Ravenwood Hall's extensive cellars are stocked with some of the finest vintages, as well as excellent quality lesser known wines, and features a selection of rare ports and brandies.
