SEO is an evolving field, so there is a wide variation in the prices charged by SEO experts. Most professional optimisation consultants will quote individually for each project because the amount of work varies greatly, depending on factors such as:
- The level of competition for the keywords you are targeting
- How well optimised your website is currently
- Your website’s current search position for your targeted keywords
- Whether you require additional services such as keyword research and monthly analysis of Google analytics data and search positions.

Check who will actually do the work
The majority of the variable cost of an SEO campaign is dependent on the SEO’s time, but also you should expect to pay for the internet marketing experience and track record of the professional which varies considerably.
Our advice is to check who will actually do the work because many SEO companies outsource to make it more profitable.

Make sure you know type of service you are paying for
Unfortunately the field of SEO is unregulated and so it is extremely important to check the credentials and track record of a company before appointing them.
Make sure you know how they plan to approach your project. Take up references. Avoid companies that send unsolicited spam emails with great promises and any that put all their energies into mass link building, because at best it probably won’t achieve your marketing objectives and at worst may prove damaging!
