Headway Cambridgeshire, based on the Brookfields Hospital site in Cambridge, promotes a wider understanding of all aspects of brain injury. It provides information, support and services to people who have brain injury and to their families and carers.
Members at Headway range from ages 16 to 60, and over 120 places a week are available. Attendance is voluntary and follows a visit by a prospective member with their family or carer.
Support programmes are geared to each person's abilities and preferences. Two key features are the one-to-one sessions tailored to each person's needs and cognitive therapy. A speech and language therapist also visits.
The Headway Cambs website, designed by Fen Digital, helps to promote and awareness of the work and facilities of this brain injury charity and explains the referral process.
